Two fabrics with the same GSM can still feel very different because of their fiber composition, yarn quality, knitting structure, finishing process and washing treatment.

What GSM Is Best for Custom Streetwear?

150–180 GSM: Lightweight Fabrics

This range is commonly used for:

Fabric weight is only one part of fabric selection. The internal structure and finishing of the fabric also affect warmth, softness and drape.

French Terry Fabric

French Terry, also known as loopback fabric, has a smooth outer surface and visible loops on the inside.

Its main characteristics include:

  • Good breathability

Poor-quality ribbing can lose shape, stretch excessively or become loose after repeated washing. When developing heavyweight T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, brands should pay attention to:
