A clothing Tech Pack, short for technical package, is a detailed product-development document that explains how a garment should be made.

It acts as a communication blueprint between a fashion brand and its clothing manufacturer. A clear Tech Pack helps the factory understand the garment structure, measurements, fabrics, trims, stitching methods, branding details and packaging requirements before sample development begins.

Producing custom clothing without sufficient technical information can lead to measurement errors, incorrect fabrics, misplaced artwork, repeated sample revisions and inconsistent bulk production.

For brands developing custom T-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, jackets or streetwear collections, a complete Tech Pack can make the sampling and manufacturing process more accurate and efficient.

Why Is a Tech Pack Important?

A reference image may show the overall appearance of a garment, but it usually does not explain how the product should be constructed.

For example, a factory may still need to know:

  • The exact garment measurements

  • Zipper type

  • Ribbing specifications

Unlike fashion illustrations, technical flats focus on garment construction.

They should clearly show details such as:

The Tech Pack should identify the required fabric as clearly as possible.
